Georgia O'Keeffe House Georgia O'Keeffe House (c. 1900) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains one of the finest examples of Queen Anne style in the Wertland Street Historic District. In 1893 Mary R. Bryan purchased the land and completed construction of the house in 1900. The Bryan family rented the house to Georgia O’Keeffe from 1909 to 1916 while she studied and taught at UVa and maintained an art studio in the basement. The house changed hands several times between 1917-1956 before Irene Lambeth renovated and divided into apartments in 1957 while also adding the southeastern wing. The house has been used as a rental property for students and faculty alike ever since.
