About CBS

CBS Investments was created with the mission of providing housing to University of Virginia students within walking distance to Grounds. This mission has been accomplished by purchasing and renovating over 50 historic and residential properties and by developing new boutique apartment communities around the University of Virginia.

CBS Rentals began in 1972 with the purchase of one rental house in the University area. Since then, its real estate holdings have expanded to include housing over 1200 tenants yearly. In 1998, CBS Rentals LLC was formed to rent and manage all of CBS Investments' privately held real estate.

In 1992, CBS Investments developed Blue Cottage Apartments, the first of ten new CBS Apartment Communities located in the University of Virginia Corner/Rugby/ Historic Downtown area.

In 1994, the National Council of the Multi-Housing Industry distinguished the Blue Cottage Apartments, awarding it "The Best Small Apartment Project" in the United States. University of Virginia students view the CBS Investments apartment communities as offering the highest quality housing, including: the best locations, the most innovative building designs, and the widest selection of amenities of any apartments in the area.

CBS Investments is dedicated to the preservation of Historic properties. In 1999, CBS Investments purchased and restored the Historic Georgia O'Keeffe House located at 1212 Wertland Street. Currently, CBS Investments has purchased and restored 12 Historic properties located around the University of Virginia, making them the most popular and sought after University rental properties.

In addition to University Properties, CBS Investments owns and manages properties located in Charlottesville's Historic Downtown, including the new Meriwether Apartments, the 10th and East Market Office Building, 1001 East Market Condos and The Randolph Condos. CBS Investments also owns The Jefferson Centre Shopping Center and Office Park located at Lake Monticello.

The newest addition to CBS Investments properties is The Barringer Condos at Monroe Lane located in the heart of The University next to the University Medical Center.
